When a student starts tuition, they get an account on lstuition.com and a OneNote notebook for their work. All lessons are one to one. It is recommended for the customer to observe at least the first lesson.

The hardware and software listed below is considered essential for online tuition. Further software setup instructions will be provided on booking a first lesson.
Device with pen input
Online tutoring requires an internet connected device that supports pen input. A PC and a drawing tablet is a common arrangement, but many students prefer to use a tablet computer with a stylus.

Calculator
A scientific calculator is an essential piece of equipment for GCSE and A-level Maths and Physics. For A-level Maths the calculator must additionally support certain statistical functions.

Teams
Microsoft Teams is used for videoconferencing, and is available for multiple platforms.
Depending on the environment in which the student takes lessons, using Teams with a headset may be advisable.
The webcam is disabled in both directions for privacy reasons.
Session recording will be offered starting August 2026.

OneNote
Microsoft OneNote is the main platform I use for delivering lessons and organising work. Like Teams it is available for multiple platforms.
The student's OneNote notebook is shared with the student and the customer to ensure accountability.
OneNote can be used either from a web browser or from the OneNote app, but the app is recommended whenever possible.

Fees
All lessons are one hour in length. First lesson free. Cancellation on the day incurs a £10 charge. £5 per lesson discount available for customers averaging more than one lesson a week.
