Maths and physics with Leon Simpson Tuition

I am Dr Leon Simpson. I am an online tutor of maths and physics with a commitment to and proven track record of raising attainment.

​I studied an MPhys degree in Physics at the University of Oxford, followed by a PhD in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Bath. I had a career in academic research, with postdoctoral research in mathematical physics done abroad behind me.

More recently, I worked at a college, teaching A-level Maths, Further Maths and Physics. Since leaving in 2018 I have worked as a tutor, ranging in scope from secondary education to helping postgraduate students.

Highlights of 2024 include 71% of my A-level Maths students obtaining A/A* grades, and 100% of my GCSE Maths students and 67% of my GCSE Physics students obtaining 8/9 grades. In 2025, 100% of my A-level Maths and Further Maths students obtained A/A* grades, as well as 100% of GCSE Physics students scoring 7-9 grades.
